How have you been doing during these hard times for music in general?

It’s definitely a challenge but a welcomed one too. It allowed me to step away from comfortable patterns and think outside of the box. I think you can only take on a positive mindset in situations like this to keep moving forward, and through that, we are able to innovate. The strength of humanity I guess!

 

What about your future projects?

I’m currently working on a short film to tie all of my Antihero songs together, which was the plan from the start of me creating this EP. After that, I will go into writing and writing to figure out where I will go in sound next.

 

If you were to choose just one of songs to introduce yourself to those who don’t know your music, which one would you choose and why?

Eeeeeeeeekkk!! That’s such a good, hard question! Depends on my mood, if I wanted to show my softer side it would be Astronaut and if I wanted to show my harder side it would be Deadalive.

 

Come stai vivendo questi tempi così difficili per il mondo della musica?

È sicuramente una sfida ma una sfida in qualche modo benvenuta. Mi ha permesso di allontanarmi da abitudini assodate e spinta a pensare fuori dagli schemi. Penso che puoi solo affrontare queste situazioni con una mentalità positiva per poter andare avanti e, grazie a questo, poter essere in grado di innovare. La forza dell’umanità, immagino!

Progetti futuri?

Al momento sto lavorando ad un corto per legare insieme tutte le canzoni di Antihero, che per me era il piano fin dall’inizio per questo EP. Dopodiché, mi butterò a scrivere e scrivere per capire dove andrà il mio sound.

Se dovessi scegliere una sola delle tue canzoni per presentarti a chi non conosce la tua musica, quale sceglieresti e perchè?

Eeeeeeeeekkk!! Questa è davvero una bella domanda difficile! Dipende dal mio umore, se volessi far vedere il mio lato più delicato sarebbe Astronaut e se volessi far conoscere il mio lato più duro sarebbe Deadalive.

Three Questions to: Dig Two Graves

How and when was this project born?

“We started in 2017 by Josh and Kenny – who have been friends for years – and quickly found Mike, who was very interested in the project. We hit up Jesse over Instagram and the rest is history! Josh had one song written when we first started which we practiced and worked on to start out. After working on it for a while, it ended up changing pretty drastically and we finally decided on a certain version of the song. This then became our first single Wick. The earliest demos of the song are almost completely unrecognizable to what it ended up being.”

 

If you had to sum up your music in three words, what would you choose and why?

“Nice, fresh and organic. We believe that our music stands out from the metalcore/djent type of genre which was one of our goals from the start. We wanted to create a project that had the heaviness of that style of metal but with some more of our own sauce. We ultimately ended up going in a more melodic direction and tried to utilize a variety of song structures to keep things fresh.” 

 

What about your future projects?

“We are currently working on our debut full length album and we’re very super stoked on how it’s turning out. Two songs are very close to completion, which will most likely be released as singles before the album. Nothing is definite, of course, but that is the current plan. We are working to have at least one single out in the near future, hopefully.”

 

 

Come e quando è nato questo progetto?

Abbiamo cominciato nel 2017. Josh e Kenny erano amici già amici da anni, poi abbiamo subito trovato Mike, che era molto interessato al progetto. Abbiamo contattato Jesse su Instagram e il resto è storia! Josh aveva già scritto una canzone quando abbiamo iniziato e abbiamo provato e lavorato su quella per cominciare. Dopo averci lavorato su per un po’, la canzone era cambiata in modo abbastanza drastico e alla fine ci siamo decisi per una certa versione. Questa poi è diventata il nostro primo singolo Wick. I primi demo della canzone sono quasi completamente irriconoscibili dalla versione che poi è diventata. 

 

Se dovessi riassumere la vostra musica in tre parole, quali sarebbero e perché?

Bella, fresca e naturale. Crediamo che la nostra musica si distingua dal genere metalcore/djent, che era il nostro obiettivo iniziale. Vogliamo creare un progetto che abbia lo stile “heavy” del metal ma aggiungerci qualcosa di più nostro. Alla fine abbiamo preso una strada più melodica e cercato di usare arrangiamenti diversi per mantenere un’idea di novità.

 

I vostri progetti futuri?

Al momento stiamo lavorando sul nostro primo album e siamo molto emozionati per come sta venendo fuori. Due canzoni sono quasi finite e molto probabilmente verranno rilasciate come singoli prima dell’uscita dell’album. Ovviamente non c’è niente di definitivo, ma questo è il piano attuale. Stiamo lavorando per far uscire almeno un singolo nell’immediato futuro, si spera.

Three Questions to: Fatality

How and when was this project born?

“Fatality was formed in 2016 by me (Josh Abbott, vocals), Gareth Brimley (guitar) and ex-drummer Chris Batson, with our first EP being released in the same year. We performed at Asylum, a legendary Chelmsford venue for the release and raised £200 for the SNAP charity from merch and CD sales. In 2017 we recruited bassist Matt Shynn and subsequently recorded our second EP, which we released in 2019. We did a small tour of the Prey EP in aid of MIND and raised over £500 this time. In November 2019 we parted ways with Chris, our drummer, and joined forces with Jordan Maze, who now completes our current line-up. Since his recruitment in late 2019 we’ve written and performed a new set of tracks with Jordan as well as some Fatality originals. We played our first show with Jordan on a live stream in Summer 2020.”

 

Is there any specific artist you would like to collaborate with?

“For me personally it would be Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach. He’s someone that has hugely inspired me to do what I do and I am really influenced by his energy and stage craft. It would literally be the highest moment in my career if we got to work with him on a track or a project. If he’s reading this, then get in touch!” [laughs]

 

What about your future projects?

“Well, at the moment we’re unable to play unless there’s a completely reduced capacity which isn’t what we’re all about so the simple answer is no. As soon as we’re allowed to perform in indoor or outdoor venues or at festivals then we will be tirelessly booking and performing at shows again. However, we have new music in the works. We have a few tracks that are ready to be released and a load of new material that we’re constantly working on and refining. The Lesson, Indemnify and Eight will be released over the next few months with the idea that we will accumulate these and more tracks into a third project at the end of the year, ready for when live music is back.”

 

 

Come e quando è nato questo progetto?

I Fatality si sono formati nel 2016 con me (Josh Abbott, voce), Gareth Brimley (chitarra) e l’ex batterista Chris Batson e in quello stesso anno è uscito il nostro primo EP. Per l’occasione ci siamo esibiti all’Asylum, una location pazzesca a Chelmsford, e abbiamo raccolto 200 sterline da devolvere in beneficenza dalla vendita dei CD e del merchandise. Nel 2017 abbiamo reclutato il bassista Matt Shynn e successivamente abbiamo registrato il nostro secondo EP, che abbiamo pubblicato nel 2019. Abbiamo fatto un piccolo tour per l’EP Prey, dove abbiamo raccolto più di 500 sterline a favore dell’associazione MIND, che si occupa di salute mentale. Nel novembre 2019 Chris e la band hanno preso strade diverse e abbiamo incontrato Jordan Maze, che adesso completa la formazione attuale. Da quando è entrato nella band a fine 2019, abbiamo scritto e suonato una serie di nuove canzoni con Jordan, ma anche alcuni nostri pezzi più vecchi. Il primo concerto con lui è stato un live in streaming quest’estate.

 

C’è qualche artista in particolare con cui vi piacerebbe collaborare?

Parlando personalmente, sarebbe Jacoby Shaddix dei Papa Roach. È un artista che mi ha ispirato moltissimo nel fare quello che faccio e la sua energia, il suo modo di stare sul palco hanno una grande influenza su di me. Se riuscissimo a lavorare con lui per un pezzo o un progetto, sarebbe letteralmente il picco della mia carriera. Se sta leggendo questo, contattaci! [ride]

Progetti per il futuro?

Beh, al momento non possiamo suonare se non con capienze estremamente ridotte e non è quello che stiamo cercando, quindi la risposta più semplice è nulla. Non appena sarà permesso esibirsi all’aperto, al chiuso o ai festival, allora ci prenoteremo e faremo di nuovo concerti senza sosta. Ad ogni modo, siamo al lavoro su nuova musica. Alcuni pezzi sono pronti per essere rilasciati e c’è un sacco di nuovo materiale su cui stiamo costantemente lavorando e che stiamo rifinendo. The Lesson, Indemnify e Eight usciranno nei prossimi mesi e c’è l’idea di raccogliere questi ed altri pezzi in un terzo progetto per la fine dell’anno, che sia pronto per quando tornerà la musica dal vivo.

Three Questions to: Stone Sea

How and when was this project born?

“Stone Sea was formed by Elvis Suhadolnik Bonesso around 2013 in São Paulo, in Brazil. After the release of the album Origins, Elvis moved to Ireland, where Stone Sea became a band with three members and released two EPs, Vaporizer and Mankind Maze. The latter also includes the track Dream Song, whose music video has been recently released.”

 

If you had to sum up your music in three words, what would you choose and why?

“Strenght, submission and time. I like to imagine our songs like sea waves hitting the shores. The sea and the stones are the same, but time defines the correlation between one and another.”

 

What would you like to inspire in those who listen to your songs?

“Inspiring people not to be afraid to be themselves and to accept changes, which are the only-known constant in our lives.”

 

 

Come e quando è nato questo progetto? 

Intorno al 2013, gli Stone Sea sono stati fondati da Elvis Suhadolnik Bonesso a San Paolo, in Brasile. Dopo l’uscita dell’album Origins, Elvis si è trasferito in Irlanda, dove gli Stone Sea sono diventati una band di tre persone e abbiamo pubblicato due EP, Vaporizer e Mankind Maze. Quest’ultimo include anche la canzone Dream Song, di cui abbiamo recentemente fatto uscire il video. 

 

Se dovessi riassumere la vostra musica in tre parole, quali sceglieresti e perché?

Forza, sottomissione e tempo. Mi piace pensare alle nostre canzoni come le onde del mare che si infrangono sulla costa. Il mare e gli scogli restano gli stessi, ma è il tempo a definire il rapporto tra l’uno e l’altro.

 

Cosa vorreste trasmettere a chi vi ascolta?

Ispirare le persone a non avere paura di essere loro stessi e ad accettare i cambiamenti, che sono l’unica costante conosciuta nelle nostre vite.

Interview to Romeo, lead singer-guitarist of Reaven

 

How have you been doing during these hard times for music in general?

“It’s been a very weird period. The worst part was cancelling all our tours in Europe and in the US, but, on the other hand, there were some good aspects. We’ve been recording a lot for our new album in studio. We’ve been filming a new homemade music video on our last single Escape, which was composed and recorded during the quarantine. But it’s true that we’ve been asking ourselves many questions about our future in the music industry…”

 

How and when was this project born?

“It’s a very long story of love. I decided to create the band when I was 14 years old in high school. Vince (drummer, back vocals) and I were in the same school and I remember I just asked him something like “what do you think of creating a new band?”. He just told me that it would be a great idea and right away the next week we were having rehearsals. We’ve always been playing together since then.”

 

What about your future projects?

“We are about to release quite soon our new album For Tomorrow. It’s gonna be a 15 tracks album and we are very excited about it. Also, we are trying to reschedule some shows in Europe for 2021 and I think there will be some new music videos out within the next months.”

 

 

Intervista con Romeo, cantante e chitarrista dei Reaven

 

Come state vivendo questi tempi così difficili per il mondo della musica?

È stato un periodo molto strano. La parte peggiore è stata dover cancellare tutti i nostri concerti in Europa e negli Stati Uniti, ma nonostante questo ci sono stati anche alcuni aspetti positivi. Abbiamo registrato un sacco per il nostro prossimo album in studio e abbiamo filmato un video “casalingo” per il nostro ultimo singolo Escape, che è stato scritto e registrato in quarantena. Ma è anche vero che ci siamo fatti molte domande riguardo al nostro futuro nell’industria musicale.

 

Come e quando è nato questo progetto?

È una storia d’amore molto lunga. Ho deciso di creare la band alle superiori, quando avevo 14 anni. Io e Vince (batteria, cori) andavamo a scuola insieme e mi ricordo di avergli semplicemente chiesto una cosa tipo “che ne pensi di creare una nuova band?”. Mi disse che era una grande idea e la settimana dopo stavamo già facendo le prove. Da allora, abbiamo sempre suonato insieme.

 

Per quanto riguarda i progetti futuri?

Tra non molto uscirà il nostro nuovo album For Tomorrow, che conterrà 15 tracce. Siamo molto emozionati al riguardo. Inoltre, stiamo cercando di riprogrammare alcuni dei concerti in Europa per il 2021 e credo che nei prossimi mesi uscirà anche qualche nuovo video.

Three Questions to: Random Ties

Hey everyone, it’s Youssef from Random Ties a heavy hitting, feel-good rock band. A big thanks to you for giving us a voice via your interview.

How have you been doing during these hard times for music in general?

“Our goal has always been to remain consistent, provide quality music to our audience and reach a wider fan base geographically. We’ve been very busy this year despite the pandemic. In June we released our EP Believe, which I had put on hold for many years, with a couple of music videos on our YouTube channel. We also had an East Coast summer tour that ended last month at the Goose Lake Festival 50th anniversary in Michigan and a couple of weeks ago we released our latest single, Thawra, inspired by the deadly explosion that happened in Lebanon and rocked the nation, leaving over 300,000 people displaced and thousands still missing or dead. We worked with the incredible Layal Jebran, who produced the video with the most authentic shots. We hope this song will shed light of what’s going on down there and all proceeds will go towards supporting the Lebanese Red Cross.”

What would you like to inspire in those who listen to your songs?

“Don’t be afraid to speak up against injustice or corruption. If you are oppressed, stand up to the bully and know that every day is a chance to turn things around.”

What about your future projects?

“September is suicide prevention and awareness month, so we decided to release on the 27th the video for our song Why, which talks about the struggle of losing someone close to you. We will also release our second EP in October, but we haven’t picked a title yet.”

 

Abbiamo fatto due chiacchiere con Youssef dei Random Ties, una rock band emergente di Detroit.

Come state vivendo questi tempi così difficili per il mondo della musica?

Il nostro obiettivo è sempre stato quello di rimanere costanti, garantire ai nostri ascoltatori musica di qualità ed estendere il nostro pubblico a livello geografico. Nonostante la pandemia, siamo stati parecchio impegnati: a giugno abbiamo pubblicato il nostro EP Believe, che avevo lasciato da parte per anni, insieme ad un paio di video musicali sul nostro canale YouTube. Quest’estate siamo anche stati in tour sulla East Coast e abbiamo concluso il mese scorso suonando al cinquantesimo anniversario del Goose Lake Festival, nel Michigan. Inoltre, qualche settimana è uscito il nostro ultimo singolo, Thawra, riguardo la terribile esplosione che ha scosso il Libano, lasciando più di 300.000 sfollati e migliaia di persone tra vittime e dispersi. Abbiamo lavorato con l’incredibile Layal Jebran, che ha realizzato il video usando filmati autentici. Speriamo che questa canzone faccia luce su cosa sta succedendo laggiù e tutti i proventi andranno alla Croce Rossa libanese.

Cosa vorreste trasmettere a chi vi ascolta?

Di non avere paura a farsi sentire per combattere le ingiustizie o la corruzione. Se vi sentite oppressi, alzatevi in piedi e sappiate che ogni giorno è un buon giorno per poter cambiare le cose. 

Per quanto riguarda progetti futuri?

Settembre è il mese della prevenzione del suicidio, quindi abbiamo deciso di rilasciare il 27 il video della nostra canzone Why, che parla proprio di quanto sia difficile perdere una persona cara. Ad ottobre uscirà anche il nostro secondo EP, ma non abbiamo ancora scelto il titolo.
